Who We Are
25 Years of Building Dutchess County.
We're not a national franchise or a revolving crew. We're a local company with deep roots in this community — and our reputation is built one project at a time.
Our Story
Started Here. Still Here.
Scoville Construction was founded in 1999 by Shane Scoville, a Poughkeepsie native who learned the trade working alongside his father on residential builds throughout the Hudson Valley. What started as a two-man framing crew has grown into a full-service general contracting company with a team of 18 — but the approach has never changed.
We take on work we can stand behind. We don't overbook, we don't cut corners, and we don't disappear after the check clears. Every project we build becomes part of this community — and part of our record.
Today, Scoville Construction handles everything from kitchen renovations in Rhinebeck to ground-up custom homes in Millbrook to commercial buildouts in Poughkeepsie. We're licensed, insured, and proud to have built relationships with clients who've called us back for their second and third projects.
Our Values
What We Stand For
Honest Estimates
We give you a real number upfront — not a low bid to win the job and change orders to make it back.
Local Accountability
We live and work in Dutchess County. Our reputation here is everything. We can't afford to do bad work.
Craft Over Speed
We'd rather take an extra week and do it right than rush a job and have you call us back to fix it.
Clean Job Sites
We respect your home or business. Our crews clean up every day and treat your property like it's ours.
Dutchess County Roots
We Build Where We Live.
Our team lives in Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Millbrook, Beacon, and the towns in between. We coach Little League, we shop at the same hardware stores, and we drive past the projects we've built every day. That's not a marketing line — it's why we care about the work we put our name on.
